An opportunity has arisen to join the multidisciplinary Bassetlaw Long Term Neurological Conditions Team offering neurorehabilitation to individuals with neurological conditions. The post holder will work under the supervision of the Principal Clinical Psychologist for Neurorehabilitation. Opportunities to pursue further training in Neuropsychology may be available following discussion.

Main duties of the job

The role involves providing specialist neuropsychological assessment and intervention in patient's homes as well as consultation and training to the multidisciplinary team regarding the psychological difficulties arising as a consequence of a neurological condition. The postholder will supervise Assistant Psychologist, Band 7 Clinical Psychologists and Trainee Clinical Psychologists as appropriate.

To offer a professional and specialised clinical psychology service to adults with neuropsychological problems. This includes

Carrying a specialist caseload as an autonomous clinician to provide psychological and neuropsychological assessments and treatments, including assessment of risk to patientsPlanning, organising, delivering and evaluating specialist psychological therapies and programmes of care for individuals and groupsProviding advice, guidance and consultation in the areas of neuropsychological assessment, physical rehabilitation and physical health psychologyProviding a specialist clinical psychology perspective in complex multi-disciplinary assessments including with outside agenciesOffering advice to other professionals on psychological risk assessment and management

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

• BPS accredited Doctoral Level Training qualification in Clinical Psychology
• Eligible for Chartered status of the British Psychological Society
• Health & Care Professions Council Registered as a Practitioner Psychologist: Clinical Psychologist

Desirable

• Completion of a Clinical Psychology supervision qualification as recognised by the D.Clin Psy training courses
• Member of The Specialist Register of Clinical Neuropsychologists
• Completion of or enrolment on Postdoctoral training in Clinical Neuropsychology at either Diploma or MSc level or QiCN as recognized by the BPS Division of Neuropsychology

Experience

Essential

• Substantive experience in clinical neuropsychology or neurorehabilitation, gained either pre or post qualification or during clinical training including experience of working in community neurorehabilitation teams
• Experience of multidisciplinary team working
• Experience with a variety of neuropsychological assessments and interventions
• Experience of teaching and training

Desirable

• Experience of providing professional and clinical supervision.

Contractual requirements

Essential

• A full UK driving license and vehicle for business use is required for this post however reasonable adjustments will be made for disabled individuals in line with the Equality Act 2010. Ability to travel frequently to provide a service as part of a community team in patients' homes as well as between sites.

Physical requirements

Essential

• The post holder is required to travel to patient homes and between NHS sites to deliver a psychological service as part of a community team. The post holder is required to move psychometric tests and portable IT equipment as required.
