We are looking for an enthusiastic, compassionate, and highly motivated Occupational Therapist to work in a challenging but rewarding role, within the Intensive Community Assessment and Treatment Team (North).
The Intensive Community Assessment & Treatment Team (ICATT) provides a rapid, short term assessment and treatment service for people with an intellectual disability who may challenge services and have additional mental health needs. The Team seek to prevent a hospital admission where it is appropriate to do so, enabling service users to receive treatment and care within their own homes, remain involved in their care as part of their own community and therefore minimising the disruption of their lives and the lives of those caring for them
We offer specialist support tailored to the individual drawing flexibly on a broad range of models and interventions working with a highly skilled Multi-Disciplinary Team .
You will be responsible for managing your own complex caseload. You will provide high-quality assessment, formulation, implementation and evaluation of patients' needs and monitor the quality and effectiveness of therapeutic interventions. This involves collaboration, both across the MDT and networking with professionals and agencies.
Main duties of the job
Working with the support of a senior therapist, you will be expected to manage a complex clinical caseload.
The post is open to newly qualified therapists and experienced therapists wishing to broaden their skills in a new setting. We are a friendly and supportive multidisciplinary health team with a wealth of experience and knowledge.
Regular clinical supervision and professional support is offered along with opportunities for professional development. There is a clinical lead occupational therapist within the team supporting the delivery of a quality, evidence-based service, continuing professional development and staff wellbeing.
You will have proven team working skills a high level of self-motivation and a flexible approach to your work, coupled with a positive attitude and be naturally caring and compassionate and have good communication skills. You will be committed to providing high quality care and undertake evidence-based practice consistent with the Trust's values.
You must be able to demonstrate awareness of current issues and legislation affecting people with an Intellectual Disability.
You will be required to maintain up to date records and documentation in line with Trust Policies and providing support to carers and families of individuals who access our services.

Job responsibilities
Deliver a patient needs led occupational therapy programme using a range of assessments, treatment approaches and evaluation based on best available evidence, to people with an Intellectual Disability and Mental Health needs.
Be actively involved in the clinical risk assessment and development of risk management plans for patients and adhere to these.
Effectively manage a nominated caseload under supervision.
Adhere to professional and locally agreed standards.
Successfully time manage and prioritise areas of responsibility.
Be an active member of the multi-disciplinary team providing clinical reports as necessary,
To undertake any other duties that would be a reasonable expectation for the need of the service such as dealing with referral enquiries to the team.

This post is eligible for a Golden Hello payment of �2,750 for new starters who are external to the Trust. This is payable in 3 instalments over a 2 year period. This payment is only eligible to new starters who do not already hold a contract of employment with the Trust and have not been an employee of the Trust in the previous 3 years. This post also includes paid enhancements for unsocial hours working during night, weekends and bank holidays.
