Following a recent restructure to better align our culture and improvement programmes, an exciting opportunity has risen for a Head of Culture and Strategic Improvement. This critical role involves leading a team dedicated to the programme management and delivery of many of our key refreshed strategic priority focus areas. It uniquely combines the responsibility of driving effective cultural change and embedding a culture of continuous improvement with the application of change management, and organisational development methodologies. We are seeking an individual who is not only passionate about continuous improvement but also deeply committed to developing and delivering programmes of work that address the human factors essential for supporting and sustaining change.

Main duties of the job

As the Head of Culture and Strategic Improvement, you will play a pivotal role in delivering our refreshed strategy by driving cultural transformation and strategic improvement initiatives. Working closely with the Assistant Director of Strategy, Organisational Development and Improvement, you will focus on creating an environment that supports key improvement and change initiatives. Your leadership will ensure that improvement and change methodologies are effectively integrated with a strong cultural emphasis across the Trust's strategic priority areas. You will oversee significant Trust-wide projects, aligning them with organisational priorities and fostering a culture that promotes the successful delivery of our 2024-2027 Strategy. Building effective relationships is crucial in this role due to the collaborative nature and programme management aspects.

Oxleas offers a wide range of NHS healthcare services to people in community and secure environment settings. Our services include community health care such as district nursing and speech and language therapy, care for people with learning disabilities and mental health care such as psychiatry, nursing and therapies. Job description

Job responsibilities

  • Strategically manage programmes aligned with our key strategic priority areas of our organisational strategy, integrating change management, improvement methodologies, and cultural transformation initiatives.
  • Set up appropriate programme and workstream plans highlighting key deliverables, milestones, roles and responsibilities required.Lead on the development and implementation of key cultural change areas of working, including the development and integration of psychological safety and team effectiveness programmes aimed at enhancing team effectiveness within the Trust.
  • Lead the implementation of the continuous improvement barometer and people promise barometer in partnership with HRBPs and the People Promise Manager.
  • Developing actionable insights and driving initiatives to enhance organisational culture and support change efforts.
  • Management responsibility of a team ensuring that individuals have clear objectives, regular feedback, formal appraisals and personal development plans and that any performance issues are effectively managed.
  • Foster strong matrix management and partnerships with the Quality management team, promoting consistency and sharing best practices to drive continuous improvement.
