Barts Health is one of the largest providers of healthcare in the country and serves a diverse population across East London. To meet the health needs of the people we serve we need to optimise the resources we have available. That covers financial resource and human resource as well as our infrastructure. We face a significant challenge as the demands on our services grow and the resources become more stretched. We are looking to be more effective, efficient and provide better value for money for our population.
Our analysis shows that we have opportunities to improve our activity performance within existing resources and we can reduce our cost base. We are now looking for someone who can help deliver this ambition. The Head of Delivery will focus on Barts becoming a stronger, more sustainable and collaborative provider of healthcare for East London.
You will work with key stakeholders across the hospital sites as well as within the North East London Health and manage a team across different specialities. In addition you will establish a sustainable model of delivery support going forwards.
Main duties of the job
Main skills and responsibilities include:
Working with stakeholders and Board members within Barts and across North East London
Coordinating the delivery of significant projects across Barts to improve performance
Collaborating with acute providers in North East London as appropriate
Using data and complex analysis to develop projects for improvement
Reporting clearly on delivery to stakeholders with supportive analysis
Ability to manage priorities and understanding of risks
Understanding of health systems including workforce/productivity analysis
Managing teams to deliver
Financially literate and ability to interpret financial information into actions
Ability to work with people and leaders to gain consensus
About us
Barts Health is one of the largest NHS trusts in the country, and one of Britain's leading healthcare providers.
The Barts Health group of NHS hospitals is entering an exciting new era on our improvement journey to becoming an outstanding organisation with a world-class clinical reputation. Having lifted ourselves out of special measures, we now have the impetus and breathing space to chart a fresh course in which we are continually striving to improve all our services for patients.
Our vision is to be a high-performing group of NHS hospitals, renowned for excellence and innovation, and providing safe and compassionate care to our patients in east London and beyond. That means being a provider of excellent patient safety, known for delivering consistently high standards of harm-free care and always caring for patients in the right place at the right time. It also means being an outstanding place to work, in which our WeCare values and behaviours are visible to all and guide us in how we work together.
We strive to live by our WeCare values and are committed to promoting inclusion, where every staff member has a sense of belonging. We value our differences and fully advocate, cultivate and support an inclusive working environment.
We particularly welcome applications from Black, Asian and minority ethnic candidates as they are underrepresented within Barts Health at this band.
