CAMHS Assessment and Treatment Team is a dynamic, warm and vibrant team providing assessments and brief interventions in both 1:1 and group formats to Children and Young People and their families.
We work from clinic bases at Neath Port Talbot and Swansea as well as in schools and the community.
Main duties of the job
In this role you will:
Provide assessments for Children and Young People referred in to the service, to establish the most appropriate sign posting and allocation of the referral to meet the needs of the young person and their family/support network.
Utilise your mental health nursing skills to provide brief CBT informed interventions to Children and Young People and their families/support networks in creative and age appropriate ways.
Facilitate CBT informed courses to young people and their families/support networks.
Deliver parent workshops and work closely with families to support them.
Liaise closely with other agencies and professionals and provide consultation when required to negotiate the best outcome for young people.
Plan a range of complex activities balancing client needs with other requirements of the post.
Support students and supervisees. Contribute to day to day leadership. Work in a multidisciplinary team.
Have a thorough understanding of legal/ policy issues relating to CAMHS and demonstrate confident decision making regarding consent and safeguarding issues.

- NMC Registration

- Evidence of CPD relevant to CAMHS. Relevant post registration qualifications eg Family Therapy Cognitive Behaviour Therapy Eating Disorders Self Harm Dialectical Behaviour Therapy Borderline Personality Disorder
- Experience in teaching
- Extensive knowledge in normal and abnormal child development, extensive knowledge in child and adolescent mental health issues.
