The new Barts Heart Centre has brought together the services of some of the best cardiovascular experts in the country, who will work together to create a single specialist centre for cardiovascular disease to cover all our local communities.
Our Echocardiography department holds dual accreditation with both the British Society of Echocardiography (BSE) and the European Association of Cardiovascular Imaging (EACVI), so this is an exciting opportunity to develop your career as a competent Echocardiographer with opportunities to progress to training in advanced specialist areas.
Main duties of the job
We seek a dynamic and conscientious Echocardiographer to work with our diverse Cardiac Scientist/Physiologists workforce. The successful candidate will be based at the Barts Heart Centre, St Bartholomew's Hospital, located in The City of London, with rotation to Newham Hospital. They will contribute to the weekend rota working regularly to deliver 7-day NHS (Every weekend over 23 weeks per year OR every Saturday/Sunday over 45 weeks per year). The Trust offers flexible working arrangements and strongly advocates staff well-being. This role will provide the successful candidate with good exposure to various cardiac pathologies and clinical situations.
Applicants must hold full accreditation with a recognised national/international body, independently perform and report Transthoracic Echocardiography, have relevant experience at a senior cardiac physiologist level, and be ready to embark on the next step of their career
Furthermore, you will be supported to develop your leadership skills as you supervise and train staff in the performance of their roles and give support to senior staff members.
