Nestled in the picturesque Garston area of Watford lies the Holywell Rehabilitation Unit, housed within the Langley House Community Hospital. This 20-bedded ward specialises in the intricate realms of Neuro and Stroke Rehabilitation, serving as a beacon of hope for those and their families on the path to recovery. Holywell is one of the four Hertfordshire Bedded Units and we are proud to all work in unison to provide good safe and holistic patient care to the residents of West Hertfordshire. Main duties of the job

To work alongside the Ward Manager and Modern Matron to have an oversight or day to day running of the unit, and safety of your patients.

To manage all nursing and HCA staff on the ward. This includes delegating to junior nurses within the team.

To work alongside the Ward Manager to plan and set objectives with staff and monitor this through the appraisal system.

Maintain an interest in current stroke and neuro issues and, using critical analysis, assess suitability for application with the ward area

To keep own practice and those around you safe, effective, and up to date by engaging in continued professional development and training.

To manage all nursing and HCA staff on the ward. To plan and set objectives with staff and monitor this through the appraisal system. To monitor the use of bank and agency staff used, liaising with Temporary Staffing Service as appropriate. To manage staff sickness/absence levels and ensure referral of staff to the Employee Health Department as appropriate. Take the required action through processes outlined in the CLCH Sickness Absence policy and with the involvement of HR.
