An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Deputy Operations Manager working in Division D. Division D is a varied division with medical and surgical specialties. This role will be focused on Cardiology (including cardiac diagnostics, cardiac rehabilitation and cath lab), and Genetics

Main duties of the job

The focus of this post will be on delivering the key objectives and targets for these services. This will involve close working with all stakeholders, internally and externally, to oversee the management of the services. The post holder will be expected to work within financial constraints and contribute to strategic and annual business planning for their service areas, including the engagement of senior medical, physiology, nursing and other staff. They will coordinate the planning, development and implementation of service improvement projects, productivity and efficiency projects, capital replacement programmes and performance recovery plans. They will administer clinical governance processes within their areas, assisting in the management of risk, as well as provide cross cover within the Division if required. The role will be a busy and varied one, and at times very demanding to deliver operational and financial targets and continually improve the quality of services to our patients. The post holder will be expected to engage in crossdivisional projects and meetings, participate in the divisional manager of the day rota and deputise for the Operations Manager as required.

  • First Degree or equivalent professional qualification or equivalent management experience
  • Recognised management qualification

  • Substantial experience of managing a clinical, social or equivalent service
  • Success in working collaboratively across professions and services
  • Demonstrable success in planning and managing change
  • Commissioning and service planning
  • Significant budgetary management experience
