North Bristol NHS Trust is seeking to appoint an experienced construction or property professional, as their Deputy Head of Capital Projects to help lead the established projects team in the delivery of the annual capital plan.

NBT's Estate is centred on the Southmead site, but also includes Cossham Hospital, Frenchay, Bexspool, Bristol Centre for Enablement and SBD, along with a leased property portfolio. There is a mix of building types including historic listed buildings, through to modern PFI elements.

Main duties of the job

Support the head of Capital Projects and Director of Estates and Capital in guidingstrategic level decisions relating to estate planning and capital development and support the development of the Trust estate strategy and site masterplan.

Programme manage the implementation of the agreed estate strategy and completion of the site masterplan in accordance with the agreed capital plan including site and building design and capital scheme programme and project management.

Support the Estates team in delivering an asset management service for land, property and equipment (clinical and non-clinical) including development of theTrust's buildings and equipment databases.

Manage the overall capital budget for all capital schemes undertaken, ensuring thatit does not overspend at year-end.

Education/Training/Qualifications

Essential

• Master's degree or equivalent qualification in an appropriate field of building or major capital development

Desirable

• Significant evidence of ongoing professional development including membership of key relevant organisations

Work Experience

Essential

• Significant experience of working strategically to engage senior people within and out with the organisation to deliver strategic goals

Desirable

• Proven experience of working effectively across organisational boundaries to ensure compliance with technical standards and contractual provisions

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

Essential

• Excellent project management skills to drive through solutions to a timely and positive conclusion
• Able to interpret and implement corporate and national policy in relation to building standards (HBNs, HTMs, British Standards, BREEAM etc)

Space & Property Management:

Essential

• Have 2 year + demonstrable experience of working in a UK healthcare role involving the management of estates related assets including land, property, and equipment. The role will have included acquisition and disposal of assets, both via capital purchase and lease/ licence arrangements. Have managed a system for tracking and allocating space utilisation within a large organisation

Digital Systems Management

Essential

• Have demonstrated experience of managing the set up and deployment of Estates Management digital system. Experience of improving BIM maturity, room booking systems, space monitoring and asset databases
• Have knowledge and experience of working in a BIM environment, and managing existing estates digital systems including room booking systems, space monitoring and asset databases

Estates Asset Reporting

Essential

• Have direct experience of managing a Health Care Trusts estates service & information return such as ERIC, PAM, or PLACE
• Have supported in the development of a Trusts Estates & Service information return such as ERIC, Pam, or PLACE
