We are looking for a midwife to join our Obstetric High Dependency Unit and Hospital Birth Centre (Delivery Suite).

We are looking for a midwife who enjoys providing care for women who are critically ill in the childbearing period as well as labour care for our high risk women.

Our co-located Obstetric HDU is a three bed unit inside the delivery suite. Midwives are key to provide excellent care in collaboration with a wide range of healthcare professionals including our Obstetric Medicine Consultants.

We are seeking for a midwife who has previous experience working in a High Risk setting. Ideally we are looking for a midwife who has completed a HDU midwifery course, however we will consider applications from senior midwives willing to complete the course within a year of employment.

Closing Date: 11/08/2024

Interview Date: 19/08/2024

Main duties of the job

We work as part of a MDT and you will liaise with and receive support from other health care professionals on the ward such as doctors, nurses and more senior midwives.

Our Obstetric led labour ward is an exciting place to develop skills in high risk care and you will be expected to work shifts between the obstetric led labour ward and the oHDU.

You will be expected to work with the oHDU nurse on shift with you and medical team to plan and deliver care for our most high risk patients during their stay on the labour ward.

You will be supported by our practice leaders, our PMA's and PDM team to build on your skills and confidence as you progress through your midwifery career.
