EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS
Essential
- Registered Midwife
- Evidence of continuing professional development and its application
Desirable
- Diploma / Degree level
- NLS course
EXPERIENCE
Essential
- Recent experience at Band 6
- Experience in all areas of Midwifery with evidence of recent comprehensive home birth and community experience
- Can demonstrate leadership skills and initiative
Desirable
- Team leader/line manager experience including HR policy knowledge
SKILLS, ABILITIES & KNOWLEDGE
Essential
- Clinical Skills ie perineal suturing, IV Cannulation
- Ability to act as a PA/PS for students
- Excellent communication skills with all members of the team, patients and relatives
- Good verbal and written English which can be evidenced at interview
- Demonstrates effective management in the clinical environment
- Awareness and respect for colleagues, patients and relatives cultural, religious and emotional needs and beliefs

- Evidence of managerial development
- IT literate on Microsoft Office and Excel
- Experience of roster management
- Experience of involvement in clinical audit
