Are you looking for a change? Are you interested in the development of mental health services in primary care? We are looking for someone who is dedicated to the future of the NHS, who is dynamic, innovative and forward-thinking.
Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust are looking for a psychological therapist or clinical / counselling psychologist to support the development of an effective treatment pathway across primary care services within the Portsmouth and South East Division Primary Care Networks (PCN).
In this role, under the management of a Principal Psychologist lead and a second Senior Psychological Professional, you will help us develop and evaluate our enhanced mental health service across the PCNs in the Portsmouth and South East Division.
The post could be appointed either as a band 7 preceptorship towards an 8a role or be appointed at 8a. Responsibilities would be adjusted accordingly. We are able to put a development plan in place to support applicants wishing to be considered for a preceptorship.
This post would also be suitable for someone about to qualify as an Applied Psychologist and who will be registering with the Health Care Professions Council.
Through our research adults with a serious mental illness have told us first contact is the most important point in successfully starting their recovery. When people with a serious mental illness are at their most anxious, they face too many choices with little support.
Main duties of the job
Ensure that at the start of a person's recovery, wherever and however a person accesses care they are met with compassion, understanding, and supported with both their physical and mental wellbeing.
Build teams around communities that are close to people's homes, by working with our partners including the voluntary sector, making sure people's recovery is close to their personal support networks.
Provide people who are working across these physical and mental health services with the right support and training, making sure we have creative career options across the area.
About us
Southern Health is one of the largest NHS Foundation Trusts in the UK, specialising in mental health and learning disabilities, as well as offering physical health community-based services.
As a Trust, our footprint spans more than 200 sites across Hampshire, wholeheartedly committed to providing the best possible healthcare, reaching a range of diverse communities.
- We function as a unified team, placing patients and staff at the forefront of all our endeavours.
- Our 7,000+ workforce is skilled and diverse, with a deep commitment to ongoing staff development. We offer customised training, leadership pathways, and a plethora of career opportunities.
- We respect and listen to your thoughts, ideas, and concerns via well-established network of staff groups to increase awareness and appreciation of equality, diversity, and inclusion.
Building on all this, we are currently working closely with other local NHS Trusts to integrate all our collective community, mental health, and learning disability services across Hampshire and Isle of Wight. Our new organisation is set to launch in July 2024 and will incorporate Southern Health, Solent, Isle of Wight and Sussex Partnership Trusts.
While the new Trust will be substantially bigger, it will continue to cater to the unique needs of different communities, streamlining services and making healthcare across the county more accessible.
Join us as we embark on this exciting journey to shape the future of healthcare in Hampshire.
