The Medicines Management Directorate has an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and committed pharmacy technician to advance their role in our pharmacy team based at the Princess of Wales Hospital.
Main duties of the job
The candidates must have a keen interest in working on the wards within patient services supporting the ward-based pharmacists whilst also providing dispensing and checking services within the dispensary.Our technicians are valued members of the multidisciplinary team at ward level and also work as ACTs in the automated, technician led dispensary. You will gain experience across a variety of clinical specialities, working closely with pharmacists and other health care professionals to deliver high quality, patient focussed medicines management services. You must possess excellent communication and organisational skills in order to provide an efficient and safe pharmacy services for patients in these busy environments. We are committed to the development of the technician role and can offer excellent in house training, where you will be supported and encouraged to further develop your skills in new and diverse roles. Applicants must have a BTEC National Certificate And NVQ Level 3 in pharmaceutical sciences or equivalent. Both Accredited checking technician accreditation and Medicines Management is required to be appointed to a Band 5. Applicants must also be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
