We are looking to recruit a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our Corporate Health and Safety team as a Health and Safety Advisor.
The post presents an excellent opportunity to work across allTrustsitesand will be based in Nottingham at the Queens Medical Centre. The post will support the delivery of effective health and safety strategy and support and assist Divisions/Departments in meeting their statutory responsibilities in health and safety.
Main duties of the job
Working with the Health and Safety Lead, the post holder will be part of a team who are required to ensure compliance with statutory legislation.
You will be familiar with Health and Safety legislation, be able to complete and support in risk assessment, lead on incident investigation including RIDDOR ensuring root causes are identified, lessons learnt and appropriate measures are implemented. You will support and carry out inspections and audits of practice against Health and Safety policy and procedures to ensure the highest professional health and safety advice is available.
The post holder will engage effectively with clinical and non-clinical colleagues, senior managers and key stakeholders to ensure effective health and safety management systems and process are in place.
We are looking for someone that is experienced in health and safety and has a recognised health and safety qualification. Someone who ismotivated and enthusiastic and able to work and act on their own initiative with minimum supervision and possess the ability to work andcommunicate effectively in a pleasant manner with all members of staff, patients and visitors across NUH.
As a team player, you'll be able to prioritise your work in order to meet deadlines and have a team focused approach. Previous experience ofworking within a healthcare environment or the NHS is desirable but not essential.

- Qualified to Level 6 Diploma in Occupational Safety and Health or equivalent
- Qualified to Level 3 Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health or equivalent with at least 3 years' experience of health and safety preferably within an NHS setting.
