Solent CAMHS are looking to recruit a Team Manager to support community services for children and young people with neurodiversity (ND) in Southampton and Portsmouth.

This is an exciting time for children's ND services in both cities as the ND teams continue to develop and refine their offer. In Portsmouth you would have an opportunity to work as part of the team that is using a groundbreaking ND profiling tool as part of their support for children and young people and in Southampton, you would be part of the plans, we have, for redesigning the ND assessment and support offer for the city.

Some aspects of the ND work in both cities sit within the specialist CAMH services (child and adolescent mental health) and you would be working closely with clinical colleagues and leads in specialist CAMHS as well as with community and system partners.

The national growth in demand for ND assessment and support services is echoed in the demand that is seen locally for these services. This is a challenging and exciting time to join the teams. It is a time where innovation and creativity are helpful attributes as we continue to strive to provide the best support for children, young people and their families.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for an enthusiastic leader with experience of working with people with neurodiversity. You will be looking for a post that allows you to innovate, and to grow and develop services within a structure that provides challenge and support from across education, health, and social care.

The post-holder will work alongside and support the Solent NHS Trust CAMHS management team of nurses, social workers, and allied health professionals.

We welcome applications from a range of registered professional bodies including (but not exclusive to) the Nursing Midwifery Council, Health Professional's Council, BABCP, ACP or UKCP. We also welcome enquiries from non-registered professionals who have equivalent qualifications and experience including experience of supporting young people with neurodiversity and of working within NHS teams.

For an informal conversation about the role please contact Tania Emery, Clinical Services Manager (SEND), via tania.emery@solent.nhs.uk or on 07884001391 or Laura Nisbett, Lead Nurse ADHD via laura.nisbet@solent.nhs.ukor 02381 030061.

About us

We have been working with other local NHS Trusts to create a new organisation, bringing together all community, mental health and learning disability services from across Hampshire and Isle of Wight. Subject to approvals, the aim is for the new Trust to be formed by the end of 2024.

Project Fusion is the name for the programme to create the new combined NHS Foundation Trust. Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust will be bringing the services into a single organisation will result in more consistent care, more equitable access to services irrespective of postcode, and a more sustainable workforce and services. The new organisation will operate locally to ensure services can best meet the needs of different communities.

The new Trust will be comprised of all the services currently provided by Solent NHS Trust and Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust, the community, mental health and learning disability services provided by Isle of Wight NHS Trust and child and adolescent mental health services delivered in parts of Hampshire by Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust.

Colleagues will transfer to the new organisation under Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment) -- known as TUPE on the day the trust is formed. TUPE is a legal process to ensure you transfer out of one organisation and into another, maintaining the terms and conditions of your employment.
