Main duties of the job
- Plan and deliver a targeted training programme of online and face-to-face literature searching and critical appraisal skills to support evidence based patient care, professional development and research.
- Provide ad-hoc individual information skills training / support as required.
- Contribute to enquiry services including the provision of highly complex literature reviews and research to support the delivery of clinical care and service improvement .
- Develop partnerships with other departments to embed information skills training and evidence-based decision making within the organisation.
- Assist in the marketing and promotion of library services and resources through contributing to the development of publicity materials including leaflets, instruction guides, training support materials and posters.
- Support the delivery of day-to-day library operations on the PRUH site by staffing the issue desk and administering NHS OpenAthens accounts as required.
- Maintain professional competence through a variety of continuing professional development activities such as attendance at training courses, workshops and conferences.

Training / Clinical Support
- Plan and deliver a targeted training programme of online and face-to-face critical appraisal and literature searching skills to support evidence based patient care, professional development and research. Engage with key stakeholders to ensure the training programme evolves and meets the changing requirements of service users.
- Provide ad-hoc individual information skills training / support as required.
- Contribute to enquiry services including the provision of highly complex literature reviews and research in support of evidence based practice and clinical governance.
- Maintain statistical records and a portfolio of impact case studies in relation to service delivery as required for national statistical returns and Health Education Englands Quality and Improvement Outcomes Framework.
- Support the delivery of training for library staff in using new and existing electronic resources.
- Administer NHS OpenAthens accounts to enable Kings staff and eligible users to access nationally, regionally and locally available electronic resources including eJournals, eBooks, databases and point of care tools. Ensure compliance with national procedures and guidelines.
- Facilitate access to online information relating to information skills training and electronic resources.
- Develop partnerships with other departments to embed information skills training and evidence-based decision making within the organisation.
- Assist in the marketing and promotion of services to all potential users using appropriate methods.
- Contribute to the development of a range of publicity materials in a variety of formats, including leaflets, instruction guides, training support materials and posters to promote library resources and service provision.

- Support the provision of group and individual inductions, providingpresentations as required.
- Attend regular Library and Knowledge Services staff and Postgraduate Medical & Dental Education (PGMDE) meetings, taking notes on a rota basis.
- Provide cover and support for day-to-day library issue desk operations.
- Support the delivery of statutory and mandatory e-learning on the PRUH and south sites.
- Attend regular one-to-one meetings with the Library & Knowledge Services Manager and deputise on professional matters as required in their absence including representation at internal and external committees.
- Maintain professional competence through continuing professionaldevelopment activities such as attendance at training courses, workshops, conferences and seminars run by professional bodies and groups such as CILIP, the London Searching and Training Forum (LSTF) and NHSE KLS
