Main duties of the job

Our rotations:
  • Medicine (including respiratory and the acute medical unit)
  • Orthopaedics (elective)
  • Acute Stroke
  • Stroke rehabilitation
  • Emergency Department - AHP Team
  • Potential opportunities to rotate with community teams

Supporting our patients:
  • Participate in the Band 5 rotation scheme within Fairfield General Hospital in Bury . Potential to rotate within community services in the future.
  • Provide autonomous assessments and interventions, for own designated caseload of patients with support and supervision for more complex needs.
  • Maintain clinical responsibility for own caseload and that of delegated tasks.
  • Be aware of your own limitations and competency, seeking senior support when required.
  • Provide support and training for junior staff and students.

The service operates over seven days and as such some weekend working is required as part of the role.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Degree or equivalent
  • HCPC


Desirable

  • Memberhsip of BAOT


Experience

Essential

  • Completion of broad range of undergraduate placements
  • Evidence of undergraduate CPD in the form of a detailed personal development portfolio


Desirable

  • Undergraduate experience in Acute Medical setting


Knowledge & Skills

Essential

  • Knowledge of anatomy and physiology to underpin relevant clinical skills and clinical reasoning
  • Clinical governance, quality, audit and risk assessment
  • Computer skills
  • Effective team working
  • Experience of liaison with other professionals and partnership working
  • Ability to use effective clinical reasoning
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to present information in a clear and logical manner
  • Ability to demonstrate organisational skills including time management, prioritising and the ability to complete a task.
  • Ability to work autonomously within code of practice with peer support.
  • To have an understanding of and adhere to relevant Trust policies and procedures including data protection, equal opportunities and health and safety.
  • Ability to work within a stressful and unpredictable environment
  • Ability to work over 7 days
  • Able to travel across the Northern Care Alliance sites and community to meet patient need, access training and attend meetings
