We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic team player with varied dietetic experience to join the Nutrition and Dietetic Service.

This is a permanent, full time (37.5 hours per week) post. You will be based in Morriston Hospital but the rotations will include cover for the South West Wales Regional Renal Service and will include duties within this geographical area.

Main duties of the job

This post would be suitable for a motivated Dietitian who has a wide knowledge and experience at band 5 level and who wishes to develop their skills in a supportive environment, or an experienced band 6 looking for a new challenge.

You will manage your own caseload of adult patients, supporting services to designated inpatient and outpatients areas, including support for the complex and regional services in Morriston Hospital.

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a tertiary hospital and experience a range of more complex adult clinical caseloads. The rotations will cover enteral feeding, critical care, renal, maxillo-facial surgery, ENT, vascular surgery, palliative care, GI surgery, gastroenterology and pancreatic surgery.

You will enjoy the support of a senior mentor and will receive relevant training and support as required. You will be expected to supervise and mentor student dietitians, Dietetic Assistants and junior staff.

We offer departmental CPD time to support your development and are committed to the development of teaching and presentation skills, evidenced based practice, research and clinical audit. You will be supported in attending relevant professional networking meetings, interest groups.

We are approved for student placements (1, 2 and 3). We have good support from administrative and Dietetic Assistants. The Health Board has University status with Colleges of Medicine on site.

Qualifications

Essential

  • B.Sc. Nutrition and Dietetics or equivalent
  • HCPC Registered
  • Post registration training in relevant area


Desirable

  • Student clinical educators course


Knowledge

Essential

  • Evidence of a wide variety of clinical knowledge at band 5 level
  • Documented evidence of CPD


Experience

Essential

  • Experience of service delivery in a variety of different clinical settings since HCPC registration.
  • Experience of working with patients with diverse healthcare needs
  • Student training experience


Desirable

  • Experience of supervising/ mentoring staff
