We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated individual to join our Corporate Applications team which provides application support services for clinical systems (predominantly our electronic patient record systems) across the organisation.

You will work as part of the Corporate Applications Team, managing a variety of Electronic Patient Record systems and providing a Business As Usual service to the whole trust. You will be an integral part of the team responsible for maintaining and improving the many electronic patient record systems. This role will also be responsible for the Registration Authority service .You must have effective communication skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure and maintain a professional manner and attitude at all times.

Main duties of the job

This post is part of Senior Digital team responsible for the Corporate Applications and IT training teams providing planning and management of high quality service for the Trusts critical clinical and Non-Clinical applications.

The postholder must have previous experience of delivering high availability business and safety critical applications, preferably in a clinical setting. This role is crucial to the ability of the digital services department in providing an effective service to the Trust and therefore to the effective provision of corporate services to staff and patients.

The postholder must demonstrate experience of providing an effective service to customers and a focus on customer communications and service improvement.

Person Specification

Educational Qualifications & Training

Essential

  • Educated to Masters Degree Level or equivalent technical knowledge
  • Evidence of formal education or experience (A Level equivalent)
  • Exposure to ITIL Practices.
  • Evidence of on-going personal development.


Desirable

  • ITIL Foundation Certificate.
  • Prince II Practitioner.
  • Relevant IT Qualifications


Experience

Essential

  • Previous experience of managing a Corporate Applications Support function in a complex IT support environment using ITIL principles.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience managing a multi-disciplinary team of 5 or more members of staff.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience providing expert technical support, advice and guidance to users of a wide variety of technologies within a large organisation.
  • Previous experience of working in the NHS with exposure to Healthcare Systems.

  • Expert understanding of desktop, server and network systems and how they interlink and function to provide an integrated IT infrastructure.

  • Valid Driving Licence and use of car, willing to travel as requested.

  • Advanced knowledge of IT Data Centre practice.

  • Demonstrable ability to design and generate statistics and management information for effective team and departmental management.
