CAMHS EARLY YEARS’ SERVICE

Senior Occupational Therapist

Base:Stafford or Burton - to be confirmed

The service administrative hub is based in Stafford. The role can be based from Stafford or Burton but will require travel across South Staffordshire to fulfil clinical duties. Home based working for administrative tasks is a possibility.

Pay scale: Band 7

Fixed term/Secondment

The CAMHS Early Years’ Service is a long established, successful service operating across South Staffordshire. We provide early, effective support for pre-school children who exhibit emotional and/or behaviour problems, where intervention by other services is not thought to be sufficient to meet their needs. Presenting problems might include attachment, trauma, concerns over hyperactivity and attention, sensory differences and significant challenging behaviour. Relationships and attachment are central to what we do.

We are really excited to be creating this new Occupational Therapy role for the Early Years CAMHS team which will be a 12 month contract. This post will join a team comprised of Clinical Psychologists, Psychotherapist, Specialist Health Visitors and CAMHS Early Years’ practitioners.

We are looking for a highly skilled, motivated and enthusiastic Occupational Therapist to join us. You will have good interpersonal skills and a strong commitment and understanding of occupation in young children and their families/care settings.

You will be responsible for occupational therapy assessment, care and treatment of children seen in the Service to enhance the multi-disciplinary approach and delivery within the team. Understanding occupational performance and attachment through a sensory integration approach will be a necessary part of this role.

Your work will take place in clinic and community settings, including family homes and as such you will be required to travel across South Staffordshire, including attendance at service meetings at our administrative bases in Stafford and Burton.

This post has strong professional links through the Professional Lead for Allied Health Professionals, as well as the other Occupational Therapists in the respective clinical teams.

You will receive regular clinical and management supervision and the support of colleagues in the immediate and wider service. You will also have the benefit of working in highly motivated, well performing and supportive teams.
