Bury Mental Health Support Team (MHST) started mobilising in September 2022, we are currently operational in 25 of our 31 identified MHST schools/colleges and we are looking forward to fully mobilising in all our education settings in line with recruitment.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for the recruitment of a Qualified Education Mental Health Practitioner's (EMHP) or Children's Wellbeing Practitioners (CWP's) to join our lovely team. Please note potential candidates must have already successfully completed the HEE commissioned 1yr 'Education Mental Health Practitioner' course or the equivalent 'Children's Wellbeing Practitioner' course.

Main duties of the job

Delivering outcome focused, Evidence-Based Interventions in Educational Settings for children and young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties.

Developing skills in supporting children and young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties, their parents/carers, families and educators in the self-management of presenting difficulties.

Developing and practicing Evidence-Based skills and working in partnership with children, young people, their families and educators in the development of treatment plans for the specific intervention and agreeing outcomes.

Work in collaboration with children and young people and where appropriate parents/carers to formulate and develop agreed treatment plan.

We are currently a hybrid team, staffs therefore work flexibly across their allocated schools, pennine care sites and there is some flexibility to complete admin work at home if preferred.

Essential

• Experience of managing a caseload of children and young people with a range of mild and moderate mental health needs
• Working within a community mental health setting.
• Experience of delivering evidence based psychological interventions
• Experience of delivering groupbased interventions.
• Experience of providing psychological interventions in Educational Settings
• Experience of working with children and families and a hospital or community setting.
• Experience of working within mental health service

Knowledge

Essential

• Understanding of CYP-IAPT Principles including the use of Routine Outcome Measures
• An understanding of Safeguarding responsibilities and the importance of multi-agency working for children and families in the community.
• An understanding of Child Development.
• Working Knowledge of the educational system in England
• Understanding how difficulties can be maintained by the wider system and family.

Skills and Abilities

Essential

• Ability to assess, plan and implement care programmes for young people with complex emotional and/or behavioural difficulties.

Education/Qualifications

Essential

• Post Graduate Diploma in Educational Health Practice for Children and Young People (EMHP Qualification) OR CYPWP qualification.
• BABCP and or BPS registered/registerable or working towards registration

Desirable

• Training in Nursing, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Counselling or within a Psychological Therapy.
