The post holder will be part of the NHS HMR Talking Therapies service which provides the NICE recommended psychological therapies for depression and the anxiety disorders. The role is to manage and support a team of EAs providing employment support for people gaining, returning to, or staying in work.
The postholder will work with people that are unemployed and/or have challenges with their current employment, to help them plan a route into meaningful/better employment. They will identify support mechanisms with Employers, Education and Training services, Employment Support Services and Third Sector Organisations for people with a mental health problem who are seeking employment. They will promote the service by working with employment and training agencies and assist with the collection of data and service KPIs.
Main duties of the job
To support people with common mental health problems to gain, return to or retain employment
To work directly with Job Centre Plus, employers, trade unions and employment agencies to keep people in employment and to secure employment opportunities.
To lead and manage a team of EAs, ensuring the effective delivery of employment-related interventions.
To lead a team of EAs on recruitment, performance, and work allocation.
To hold and manage budget for the local EA project.
To prepare training materials and to lead training sessions involving clinical and non-clinical staff.
To complete further training in vocational work, careers advice, job retention and presenteeism as necessary.
To implement policies and to propose changes to practices for own area and to update procedures.
To be an active member of the Talking Therapies Senior Team by raising the importance of good work on people's mental health and to gain support from clinicians/managers to ensure good rates of referrals.
To carry appropriate leadership responsibilities including the supervision of EAs, meeting KPIs and problem solving as necessary

To uphold leadership responsibilities including the supervision of EAs,meeting of targets and problem in addition to holding a small caseload. To support and promote the use of employment interventions and provide a service focused on the aspirations of the person. To develop knowledge of the local labour market andsupport, including specialist schemes to help with retaining or finding employment. To advocate on behalf of clients with prospective employers if necessary, identifying work solutions that will minimise difficulties in the workplace. To signpost the person to other agencies in the statutory and voluntary sectors who are able to provide advice. To provide personalised support after an individual has returned to work or secured employment to help them to sustain employment. To build and to develop strong relationships between employers and other agencies to support delivery of a personalised client-focused service. To support the Talking Therapies clinical team in making appropriate referrals before a referral is considered. To liaise with primary and secondary care mental health services and social care departments. To ensure that clients' progress measures are completed, including minimum data set and clinical records for each interaction. To manage interruptions to deal with staffing or project issues. To assist in the development and delivery of high quality, accurate, relevant, and timely client records to support performance monitoring. To produce data reports to support the quality improvement process. To work with clinical and non-clinical staff to contribute to KPIs, activity, and compliance targets.
General Duties of all post holders
To undertake any other reasonable duty appropriate to the band when requested by Senior Staff. To comply with Trust and service policies, procedures and guidelines. To be aware of and work towards the Trust's strategic goals.

Professional and Personal Development
The post holder must attend theTrust Mandatory Training and Induction Programme. The postholder will be involved in an annual appraisal with their manager every 12 months, and to work to performance / training objectives in order to maintain progress in service delivery. The postholder will be expected to take responsibility for their ownprofessional development and will be supported by the Trust to achievedevelopment opportunities as appropriate.
Confidentiality and Information Governance
In the normal course of duties, the post holder will have access to confidential documents and information relating to patients, service users, staff and contractors, as well as information of a commercially sensitive nature. Such information should not be communicated to anyone outside or inside the NHS unless done in the normal course of carrying out the duties of the post. Disciplinary action will be considered where a breach of confidence has been established. All information obtained or held during the post-holders period of employment that relates to the business of the Trust and its service users and employees will remain the property of the Trust.
