The post holder will be responsible for establishing, delivering and leading a comprehensive Medical Care service within the Trust in line with the regional and national Same Day Emergency Care recommendations and guidance and pathways agreed with the local CCG, (Croydon Clinical Commissioning Group).
The post holder will provide early clinical decision making for patients with a variety of acute presentations but particularly in the case of established SDEC pathways. The post holder will be practising autonomously as an Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) within the Same Day Emergency Care to provide patient-centred quality care.

Main duties of the job
Assess, plan, implement and evaluate programmes of evidenced-based nursing care.
Provide expert advice and clinical practice. A level of advanced and comprehensive nursing assessment based on a specialist body of knowledge
Provide specialist education and training to others. Direct responsibility for the management of patients within own case load and supervision / development of junior members of the multidisciplinary team
Work collaboratively and co-operatively with clinical colleagues to develop services and quality of care delivered.
In conjunction with the acute Consultant Physician for SDEC, lead on the development of the service.
Take responsibility for the development and implementation of policies, procedures and guidelines relevant to own area of work.
Promote patient and public involvement activities in the specialist area, leading to service improvement. To improve the quality of the patient experience by identifying and meeting the individual clinical needs of patients
