Due to the promotion of the current postholder, an exciting opportunity has come up for a Deputy Clinical lead in NHS Enfield Talking Therapies Service. We are a well established, highly regarded service with a good track record for staff retention and wellbeing. The service is provided by the North London Mental Health Partnership. We work closely with our partner Talking Therapies Services in Barnet, Camden and Islington.

You will be part of a collaborative workforce of CBT Therapists, PWPs, counsellors, trainees and administrators who are working to increase access to treatment for people with depression and anxiety within the primary care setting and making changes in line with new national KPIs for Talking Therapies. The postholder will report to and be supported by the Clinical Lead for the service.

We are looking for enthusiastic and accredited senior clinicians who have experience of management, supervision, leading on areas of service development and who are also looking to further their clinical expertise in specialist areas in Talking Therapies.

Applicants are advised that we operate a hybrid working policy which means postholders are expected to come on site to our bases (2 days a week minimum and more as needed) and combine this with remote working. The postholder will support senior management cover as required including evening clinics that run from 8.00 am- 8.00 pm.

Main duties of the job

  • To work alongside and deputise for the Clinical and Operational Lead, providing operational management, supervision and case management for the staff within the NHS Enfield Talking Therapies service.
  • To manage identified team leads to enable staff to deliver on performance targets, and to report on performance targets in line with the NHSE Key performance indicators.
  • To ensure the systematic provision of evidence based therapies to the clients referred to the service.
  • To lead on identified functions of the service and act as the principal conduit for inter and intra agency communication.
  • To support the management of the day to day operations of the service across the service bases.
  • To work autonomously within professional guidelines and exercise responsibility for the systematic governance of clinical practice within the service.
  • The post holder will provide training and development opportunities for staff.
  • To utilise research skills for audit, policy and service development and research. In addition the post holder needs to propose, implement and report on policy changes within the service.
  • It is essential that the post holder is able to maintain good relationships with personnel of partner organisations and also other teams and services within the Division and across NCL.

Training and Qualifications

Essential

  • Counselling/Clinical Psychology training and HCPC registered or Completion of Talking Therapies high intensity qualification with appropriate accreditation
  • BABCP accredited
  • Supervisory training


Desirable

  • Training in a Talking Therapies modality- EMDR, LTC, others as appropriate


Experience

Essential

  • Substantial experience of working in a senior leadership role in an NHS Talking Therapies service, liaising and consulting with GPs and community providers
  • Experience of service development and of embedding new organisational models, services and pathways
  • Experience in referral processes that support the assessment of clients and patients, and to plan and coordinate the capacity provided by psychological therapists and clinicians for assessment across therapy modalities.
  • Experience of working across the life span with a broad range of client groups in different clinical settings
  • Experience of exercising full responsibility for client care
  • Experience of supervision and management of qualified staff
  • Experience in continuous improvement of talking therapies interventions and coordinating services offered by talking therapies clinicians
  • Experience of teaching, training and supervision


Desirable

  • Experience of representing psychological therapies within multidisciplinary care
  • Application of psychological therapies in different cultural contexts
