As the Digital & Data Network Manager at Tees, Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust (TEWV) you will play a pivotal role in delivering and managing a modern, resilient and secure digital network across 100 Trust sites and partner networks. In addition you will be responsible for delivering and managing the Trusts communications infrastructure.

The Trust utilise modern Cisco technologies which have recently undergone major investment and a complete overhaul of all Switching, routing and wireless infrastructure utilising Cisco DNAC at the heart of the network.

Main duties of the job

A key member of the senior management team for technology services, reporting to the Head of Technology Services.

Direct management of the Network team, network services and associated activities supporting delivery of high quality digital services. We are looking for a highly competant and experience network manager who can provide expert advice and management in the field of networks and communications across a range of technology and IT subject matter.

Areas including LAN/WAN connectivity, Wireless infrastructure, Firewalls, Routing, Switching, Network resilience and capacity planning.

A comprehensive understanding and extensive experience in developing, deploying, and supporting IT networking, network security, associated technologies and services in large and complex multi-site environments.An in-depth understanding and experience of digital IT networks and wider digital services processes and procedures supported by higher education, specialist training and hands on experience.

Job description

Job responsibilities

Has credibility with technology staff and managerial leaders. Can understand and learn quickly about relevant service delivery issues, take governance/due diligence processes and ethics into account and successfully engage and influence technical and managerial colleagues at all levels of the organisation in relation to cyber security.

Manage network projects and workstreams across multiple resources within the team, external teams and third parties.Attend technical project board meetings to capture and advise on associated networking requirements, including resourcing levels, costs, and timescales.

To ensure that there are robust contractual agreements with third party suppliers and that these are monitored on a regular basis as part of service review meetings, ensuring best value and service is achieved from the contracts.

Can proficiently interpret and document technical IT systems, processes and architecture in relation to Network and communications to a high standard and verbally/visually present to a range of internal and external stakeholders.

Works in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to document and communicate proposed and existing technical configuration documentation in relation to field of expertise.

A high degree of autonomy is expected from the post holder. Advice andsupport in decision making can be obtained from the Head of Technology and relevant governance group such as architecture board, change board and cyber security group if required.

Person Specification

Knowledge

Essential

  • Significant experience in staff management within an Network delivery function.
  • Developing technical specifications for IT services and products at enterprise level
  • Highly developed specialist knowledge, underpinned by theory and experience (At least 5 years experience). Experience and knowledge of Cisco routing and switching to a CCNP level.


Desirable

  • Experience of SDA/DNAC/ISE


Skills

Essential

  • Significant experience in IT operations functions with customer service focus.
  • Up to date in depth knowledge of industry standard technology platforms and their use in relation to the support, maintenance and development of an enterprise-wide IT network services
  • implementation and monitoring of KPIs relating to live service
