Urogynae Clinical Nurse Specialist
We are actively looking to recruit a Urogynae Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our team. You will be a recognised expert in the speciality, responsible for assessing, developing, and implementing specialist nursing care and undertaking specialist procedures for patients with pelvic floor and bladder dysfunction. You will be responsible for providing advice and support to, and liaising with, other staff.
You will be expected to develop clinical expertise in all aspects of Urogynaecological care using evidence based clinical skills in line with current available research guidelines and the NMCs scope of professional practice.
Your role will be to take the lead in providing expert outpatient care to women referred into the service, you will effectively co-ordinate and deliver the service managing your own nurse led outpatient's caseload (including vaginal pessary, bladder training, patient education / catheter care.) Ensuring a positive impact on the experience of the patients attending. You will be responsible for implementing a clearly defined integrated approach to patient care encompassing new treatments and evidence-based care. Assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care as a practitioner with specialist skills. This includes the provision of specialist education and training for other staff and students. You will play an active role in undertaking research and lead clinical audits in your chosen specialist area within the service.

Main duties of the job
- Required to undertake research and lead clinical audits in own specialist area reviewing referrals, assessment, planning, implementing and evaluating care as a practitioner with specialist skills.
- Initiate an immediate treatment regime, following defined protocols aimed at alleviating problems, and promote a return to continence. Manage own caseload from initial referral to discharge
- Ability to examine, assess and fit a range of products that assist with pelvic organ prolapse management including the use of vaginal pessaries. Assist in the pessary clinic, if required.
- Provision of care through screening programmes nurse-led clinics, accepting referrals, undertaking diagnostic procedures, undertaking therapeutic procedures, physical assessments and obtaining verbal consent to treatment. These include insertion of pessaries, PTNS, Cystistat treatment, Urodynamics study, teaching ISC
- Generate and dictate letters to referring clinicians outlining assessment, results of any investigations, treatment and management plans on all attendees.
- Responsible for running regular multi-disciplinary meetings
