There is an exciting opportunity to work in North Tees LD CAMHS - working across both Stockton and Hartlepool as a Band 6 Clinician.

The post holder will provide evidence-based assessment, interventions and risk management as part of care pathways, and offer input to children/young people, their families and carers, in a variety of settings eg home, school, and care placement. We are looking for clinician who can work flexibly to meet service need and has the vision, energy and inspiration to develop creative, imaginative solutions to working with young people and families.

Please note that the successful applicant will need to be able to travel between bases on a regular basis.

Main duties of the job

  • To be responsible for receiving referrals, triaging and prioritising these, completing evidence-based assessments and interventions .
  • to use client-centred approaches to co-producing negotiated occupational goals and evaluate these with service users collaboratively.
  • To participate in clinical/professional and management supervision
  • To contribute to multi-disciplinary team working
  • To contribute to and lead on service improvement and quality initiatives
  • To use the Trust electronic patient record system
  • To abide by all Trust policies and procedures
  • To be able to respond flexibly and creatively to challenges

The successful application will have 18 months post qualifying experience including sign off of appropriate preceptorship or competency framework and have skills of working with children and young people with a learning disability and a knowledge base of positive behaviour support.

Person Specification

Qualification

Essential

  • Current professional registration with appropriate body in healthcare or social work.
  • Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
  • Post-graduate qualification in a relevant area (within agreed timescale)
  • 18 months post qualifying experience including sign off of appropriate preceptorship or competency framework
  • Depending on work area, recognised sign-off mentor (or equivalent) or must be achieved within agreed timescale.
  • Key skills in literacy, numeracy and ITQ level 2 (or equivalent)


Desirable

  • Leadership or management qualification.
  • Certificate in teaching & assessing in clinical practice as appropriate to own profession.


Experience

Essential

  • Working collaboratively with service users and their families/carers.
  • Providing clinical supervision.


Desirable

  • Significant experience working with children and young people with mental ill health in a community setting.


Knowledge

Essential

  • Demonstrable knowledge to post-graduate level of evidence-based practice in caring for children and young people in the designated field.
  • Research and development methodology.
  • Understanding of psychological models of care and treatment.


Skills

Essential

  • Provide leadership and monitor, co-ordinate and prioritise the activities of a team.
  • Work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and undertake lead professional / care co-ordinator responsibilities
  • Provide effective clinical supervision, teaching, training and assessing in clinical practice.
