Safeguarding Adults Clinical Nurse Specialist- Band 7
A vacancy has arisen within the safeguarding adults team for a clinical nurse specialist in safeguarding adults. This will be an exciting opportunity for someone who has an interest working with vulnerable individuals and will enjoy a variety of experiences when safeguarding the needs of those who most need them. If you have a keen interest in safeguarding adults, the Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty safeguards, Prevent and related areas with a keen interest in training, then look no further. The post holder will also be involved in supporting vulnerable people including those with dementia and learning disabilities. The team is well established within the organisation and is very supportive of staff development in the area of safeguarding adults.

Main duties of the job
In partnership with members of the multidisciplinary team the post holder will develop, implement and evaluate a seamless specialist service, ensuring that patients receive the highest standard of clinical care. They act as a lead specialist and will demonstrate a high level of expertise within the specialist service, providing specialist advice, education and support to health care professionals and patients. The post holder will actively undertake clinical audits and research within the specialist area.

The post is situated within a specialist team providing advice and support to very vulnerable people who access Trust services. The team comprises of staff who bring a variety of skills and knowledge from specialities including mental health, learning disability, dementia and delirium and social work . The post will offer a good learning experience dealing with people who have very complex needs. The team works in close partnership with other teams and external agencies advocating for the patient and aiming to achieve the best outcomes for people

The post holder will be responsible for contributing to the ongoing development of clinical practice, research and standards of care within the service, including development of policies, protocols and guidelines and contribute to service developments in collaboration with multidisciplinary colleagues. Also ensures the safety and well being of services users, and always working in a manner that promotes dignity and human rights through the adoption of person centred safe care principles.

- BSC/1st degree (health related) or equivalent qualification/training and experience
- Your professional knowledge acquired at degree level will be supplemented by specialist training, experience and short courses to Masters level equivalent.
- Current First Level Nurse Registration on the NMC register or equivalent. To hold the appropriate level for the area of speciality.

- Post graduate Safeguarding Adults study.
