The children's services at Aneurin Bevan University Health Board (ABUHB) are committed to providing excellent care to our children, young people and their families.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated, dynamic and forward thinking professional to join our well-established specialist Roald Dahl Paediatric Epilepsy Nurse Specialist team who are committed to enhancing and developing their service. Whilst previous experience in Children's Epilepsy is welcomed, training and support will be provided for the right candidate and you will be supported in your development by our experienced team. This is a varied role working within both the acute and community arenas.
As a member of a multidisciplinary team the successful applicant will demonstrate a level of expertise within the specialist service, providing specialist advice, education and support to healthcare professionals, schools and voluntary organisations as well as parents/carers. They will have a key role in the management of these children in the community or referring hospital. You will be supporting children, young people and their families from diagnosis through to transition to adult services.
They will be actively engaged with clinical audit and research within the specialist area.
Main duties of the job
As a member of a multi-disciplinary team you will demonstrate a high level of expertise within the specialist service, providing specialist advice, assessment and triage, education, training and support to health care professionals, schools, voluntary organisations and parents/carers of children. You will have a key role to support the management of these children in the community or referring hospital. The post holder will actively undertake clinical audits and research within the specialist area.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
