The Manchester Inpatient Perinatal Service, situated at Laureate House at Wythenshawe Hospital have an exciting opportunity to become part of our nursing team. We are recruiting RMN'S to work within our inpatient service, as well as supporting the wider inpatient unit.
The successful applicant will be a registered RMN with an interest in perinatal mental health. Andersen Ward specialises in the treatment and care of women who develop serious mental illness or relapse during the antenatal and postnatal period. A core part of the role requires you to support mothers and to develop/maintain a relationship with their babies. Family and carer involvement is a significant part of the ward culture, and we promote and support their involvement.
The service has strong working partnerships with a wide range of professionals, such as midwives, health visitors, social care and children services across the Northwest and as such you will need excellent communication skills and work well within a large multidisciplinary team.
We are looking for a highly motivated individual who has a keen interest in infant development and women's mental health. We encourage personal development through managerial and clinical supervision and have a variety of training opportunities within the trust and further training in perinatal is provided.
Main duties of the job
To provide and develop in conjunction with the multidisciplinary team and other relevant agencies a high-quality service for patients and carers that considers individuals' physical, psychological, spiritual and social needs. To develop and support a culture which values people rights, enables them to make informed choices and recognises everyone's right to valued lifestyle, positive social experiences and use of valued resources. To lead & contribute to the smooth running of the unit in a consistent way that reflects the philosophies of the unit, service & hospital.
