Rotating through 3 different clinical areas with opportunities to utilise transferable skills and learn about a wide variety of conditions in each rotationgiving a fantastic range of experience to progress to more senior or specialised positions.

  • Inpatient stroke rehabilitation and community stroke team based at Lymington New Forest Hospital. The stroke service uniquely covers three areas, Inpatient Stroke Rehabilitation, the Community Stroke Team and the Stroke Review Service, supporting patients within the New Forest, post stroke, for 12 months. You will benefit from a robust in-service training package and work towards neuro competencies in line with the Stroke Vanguard.


  • Medical inpatients at Lymington New Forest Hospital covering the Medical Assessment Unit (MAU), acute medical wards and medical rehabilitation ward. You will have a varied caseload and learn about a variety of different pathologies while delivering physiotherapy interventions for acutely unwell patients and those requiring inpatient rehabilitation following an illness.


  • Community Occupational Therapy within the Lymington and New Milton Integrated Care Team. You will be supported to develop a high level of autonomy providing Occupational Therapy interventions alongside patients’ wider holistic needs within their own homes aiming to optimise patients’ independence, quality of life and ability to access the community.


We are looking for motivated and dynamic Occupational Therapists to join our unique rotation programme. You will gain exposure to a full spectrum of different health care conditions and will have opportunities to work with highly specialist clinicians in a broad range of different clinical specialities within the New Forest and surrounding areas.

We have a reputation for excellence in professional development through a comprehensive preceptorship programme, a wide range of internal courses and other CPD opportunities and we also work closely with our local higher education organisations taking students from all surrounding universities. We have excellent working relationships with our local CCG (West Hampshire) and the local authority (Hampshire County Council).

This post would be suitable for either a newly qualified or experienced band 5 looking to build a strong foundation in a range of different core and specialist settings. Flexible working options can be considered.
