With an interest in Head and Neck Cancer (H& N) and in Digital technology and a desire to improve pathways and outcomes for patients, the successful candidate will undertake a split (70:30) post, which will be H& N as well as working alongside the Oncology Digital technology team in using online Patient Related Outcome Measures (PROMS) for patients undergoing oncological treatment. The successful candidate will be an individual with oncology experience at a senior level, have had some experience of working to project briefs, deadlines and at achieving Key Performance Indicators.

Main duties of the job

To be the primary H& N CNS for patients undergoing treatment for Head & Neck Cancer as well as liaise with the relevant site specific key worker for patients who are on ePROMS services where there is a requirement ensuring specialist assessment of need and referrals to appropriate services. To work closely with multiple clinical cancer teams providing specialist nursing advice to patients on a cancer pathway. To identify educational and training needs of the multi-professional team and wider to enable evidence based care and better practice. Act as a role model and work autonomously to deliver specialist clinical care appropriate to the needs of the patient based on principles that are research based and which enhance the quality of patient care. To lead and participate in audits, research and evidence based practice, presenting findings in a variety of ways at local, regional and national forums. The post holder will be the ePROMS lead in oncology, supporting services and service set up locally, regionally and nationally as able.

Training & Qualifications

Essential

  • Current registration with appropriate professional body
  • Master's degree or equivalent or willingness to work towards/equivalent experience.
  • Master's degree or equivalent or willingness to work towards/equivalent experience.
  • Degree in health/nursing related studies
  • Research training / experience. Demonstrates and awareness of research principles and their application to clinical practice


Desirable

  • Non-Medical Prescriber/willingness to undertake if relevant to the role.
