We are looking for a highly motivated individual who wants to progress and take a step into a new challenge as part of a well-established team at the forefront of advanced practice. A person with advanced interpersonal and leadership skills, the ability to work with diverse range of professional groups and a high degree of professional autonomy (once trained). The team work closely within the medical team, and aim to support the consultant body, surgical trainees, and ultimately improve patient care within the Urology specialty.
The successful individual who must already be employed as a urology Surgical Nurse Practitioner, must be willing to undertake their Advanced clinical Practice MSc starting in September 2024.
Main duties of the job
Although most work is carried out during normal working hours, the team contribute to a joint rota including weekends and some night shifts once fully qualified.

After you complete these six and a half days of training you will be able to explore further leadership and improvement training opportunities. We also offer a range of additional in-house and externally provided courses and bitesize programmes through our Leadership and Improvement Team

Essential
- Professional knowledge acquired through a professional qualification which enables registration with a health care regulating body.
- Evidence of management skills gained through theory and practice
- Experience of mentoring and developing staff and Leadership skills
- Working knowledge of the trust ACP strategy and policy and understanding of advanced practice.
- Has led research and implemented service change/improvement
- Professional Registration with NMC/HCPC.
- Completed portfolio of professional development which evidences an advanced level of clinical practice in line with HEE (2017) framework for ACP
- Non-Medical prescribing Qualification
- Portfolio demonstrating continued professional development and ongoing assessments
- Formal research module completed at level 7 (master's level).
- Will work towards and complete any appropriate credential routes which are available and applicable to the clinical area
- Extensive clinical experience in the speciality (Urology)
- Evidence of Leading Service improvements and change management
- Supports Junior doctors/nurses/AHPs to develop their own scope of practice
- Experience leading a team
- Demonstrate good organisational skills

- Participation in audit/research/service evaluation
- Principal investigator experience

- In a role within the service which directly feeds into an ACP role - for example a trainee ACP
- Experience in one of the four pillars of ACP at an extended level
- Experience being a principal investigator in research
