We are looking for a dynamic individual with excellent analytical skills and an enthusiasm for service improvement to join our friendly and supportive Occupational Health team. Amongst your expertise you will have a proven record of improving data quality, experience of managing information systems and of timely production of data reports for different audiences. You will also need to be extremely well organised, energetic and enjoy working within a multidisciplinary team of both clinical and non clinical professionals. Avon Partnership Occupational Health Service (APOHS) is an NHS service hosted by UHBW, in partnership with North Bristol Trust & Sirona care & health. We provide a specialist service to the local health community here in Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire as well as providing services to other private and public sector organisations in the local and surrounding areas.

Main duties of the job
The postholder will provide senior information analyst expertise to support operational delivery and improvement initiatives across the occupational health service. Specifically the postholder will:
- Deliver high quality information analysis to support optimising current and future service delivery, performance management, business planning processes, and other key strategic and corporate requirements of NHS partners and external customers.
- Support strategic programmes of work which are designed to bring about transformational change, working alongside clinical and operational colleagues to drive forward service improvement initiatives.
- Lead for occupational health information analysis, working with complex and varied data to produce business intelligence reports to support evidence based decision making.

- Degree level qualification of equivalent experience
- Post graduate qualification to level 7 (or working towards) in relevant subject or demonstrable equivalent gained through a combination of short courses and experience
- Committed to continuous professional development

- Qualification in either Service/Quality Improvement, Organisational Development or Project Management
Knowledge and Experience
Essential
- Expert technical knowledge of clinical data information systems
- Experience of working within an information environment, including current or previous experience of the NHS
- Experience in complex data extraction from information databases and manipulation of this data in spreadsheets and applications such as Excel and Power BI
- Good understanding of statistics and their application in a business environment
- Experience of developing web based reports to produce interactive dashboards and reports
- Knowledge of UK Data Protection Law and data security requirements
Desirable
- Good understanding of the national policy context in relation to NHS staff health and wellbeing
- Experience of working effectively in a clinically led multidisciplinary team
- Experience of working in an NHS trust or an occupational health service
- Experience of line management

- Expert level of skill in information analysis and synthesis, including the ability to receive highly complex and sensitive information on employee health, and the ability to interpret and draw conclusions from the findings
- Ability to develop and deploy a diverse range of statistical and modelling techniques to plan, analyse, quantify, develop and improve services alongside NHS partners
- Ability to make decisions and show considerable initiative in the formulation of recommendations and subsequent actions
- Highly developed communication skills with the ability to communicate on complex, sensitive or contentious matters in difficult situations, responding openly to questions to ensure full understanding and engagement
