We are seeking a passionate and experienced Allied Health Professional (AHP) to lead the effective development, implementation and delivery of the education and professional development of our AHP workforce.
You will have the opportunity to develop and lead AHP educational initiatives, enhance clinical competencies and foster a culture of continuous learning amongst our talented team of AHPs.
Working across our organisations in Kingston and Richmond, you will provide strategic educational leadership for AHPs and will act as a key link between the Chief AHP, Lead Nurse for Education, Nurse Education teams, Medical Education teams and other multi-professional teams within the Trust and our external partners.
The role will require you to work autonomously and to have a continued focus on high quality learning, providing education, training and development that supports the highest standards of patient care.
Main duties of the job
Currently reporting directly to the Chief AHP and Lead Nurse for Education, the AHP Education lead will lead the effective development, implementation, and delivery of education for AHPs.
Working across local organisations, the post holder will work closely with existing internal structures including clinical groups, Practice Educators, AHP networks, AHP Operational leads and external organisations.
The post holder will provide strategic educational leadership for AHPs across Kingston and Richmond and will act as a key link between the Chief AHP, Nurse Education Teams, Medical Education teams and other multi-professional teams within the Trust, and our external partners.
The role will require the post holder to work autonomously and to have a continued focus on high quality learning for the workforce providing education, training, and development that supports the highest standards of patient care.

This role will be instrumental in supporting the AHP Operational Leads to ensure that the AHP workforce is recruited and developed to contribute to and lead in the provision of outstanding, evidence-based patient care and professional development. The post holder will support the development of solutions for expanding innovative AHP practice education capacity and lead the implementation of these ideas.
The post holder will also have a portfolio of work programmes to lead and develop further programmes of work that support the development of the AHP workforce including apprenticeships, return to practice, international recruitment and preceptorship programmes.

Essential
- Diploma/Degree in Physiotherapy, Dietetics, SLT or Occupational Therapy with Health and Care Professions Council registration
- Masters in relevant area or working at this high academic level
Experience

- Significant clinical experience in the NHS
- Expertise in professional practice and able to demonstrate credibility
Desirable
- Experience of managing and coordinating student placement working closely with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs)
- Proven experience of staff education and training
