An exciting opportunity has presented itself for a highly ambitious, passionate individual to be a Co-ordinator within the Ambulatory Emergency Care team.
The post holder will work in association with the band 7, to facilitate, manage and be responsible for the effective management of staff and movement of patients through The Emergency ambulatory Care unit. They will combine experience, positive clinical relationships, appropriate utilisation of staff and available resources whilst adhering to all departmental, Trust and Government policies, ensuring all patients receive a high standard of specialist nursing care. The post holder will be an excellent role model, leading by example and facilitating excellence through clinical care, managing, teaching and encouraging professional development for all staff in acute admission and ambulatory carer environments.
Main duties of the job
To communicate information to patients, carers, colleagues and other agencies in a manner consistent with their level of understanding, culture, background and preferred ways of communication.To provide highly complex information to patients/carers, such as breaking bad news and supporting those receiving it, sometimes where significant barriers to understanding and acceptance exist. This includes gaining informed consent in sensitive circumstances and demonstrating empathy with patients, carers and families.To practise within a legal and ethical framework that adheres to the Nursing Midwifery Council (NMC), code of Professional Conduct and local Trust policies and procedures.To demonstrate established negotiating and influencing skills in the management ofconflict across a range of situations, which may involve diffusion of hostility and aggression, e.g., to deal with complaints sensitively, avoiding escalation, etc.To maintain confidentiality of information in line with legislation and Trust policies.To be proficient with IT systems, compile reports and analyse data, often in the context of frequent interruption.
