Midwife
Somerset Foundation Trust is recruiting enthusiastic, innovative Band 5 Midwives to join their teams at Yeovil District Hospital and Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton.
Midwives who are able to meet the challenge of delivering high standards of care and are ensuring that each womans journey to motherhood is an individualised experience. The candidate must be willing and able to work both in the hospital and community setting as part of a continuity of care team, ensuring that women receive the BEST care available during their pregnancy and post natal period.
Main duties of the job
You must hold NMC midwifery registration.
You will be expected to be able to show evidence of current practice/updating.

Job responsibilities
To assess and provide the full range of care needs to develop, implement and evaluate care throughout the antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal period for women/birthing people and their babies, working under supervision as required.
To always act in a manner consistent with the NMC Code of Professional Conduct, carrying out his/her duties in accordance with Trust policies and procedures.
To work within community and acute services as a midwife supporting service users and their families
To participate in the on-call rota.
To provide effective leadership and to act as a good role model.
To supervise and teach qualified and unqualified staff, acting as a mentor.
Work autonomously within guidelines and spheres of professional practice.
To promote choice for women and promote an individualised service.
To continue professional development through the completion of a preceptorship programme designed to support learning and progression to Band 6 Midwife
