We are recruiting for a Chemotherapy Staff Nurse who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.
The unit is currently open from 08:00 to 18:00 Monday to Friday and we work in partnership with the Mount Vernon Cancer Centre. The shift patterns include 3 x 9.5 hour shifts & 1 x 9.0 hour shift across Monday to Friday.
In the facilities 18 people are able to receive their chemotherapy treatment at any one time, thus reducing waiting times and the need for people to have their treatment at another of the Trust's hospitals.
The centre features clear areas where people can discuss sensitive information about their diagnosis and treatment with clinical and nursing staff.
Our Values are Include, Respect and Improve. It is important that you understand and refer to our values during your recruitment process and beyond!
Main duties of the job
To undertake and assist in the safe administration of cytotoxic chemotherapy, monoclonal anti-bodies within the Oncology-Haematology client group, whilst also providing on-going support to patients and their carers.
Ensure that nursing care within the chemotherapy unit is a high standard and in accordance with hospital polices, procedures and standards and adheres to the Units philosophy.
To provide a high quality service of care to patients and significant others and to promote a good learning environment. To support the Senior Nurse for Chemotherapy Services in all aspects of that role, as well as the other members of the team.
You would ideally have some experience of working within oncology and delivery of systemic anti cancer treatment, however full training could be provided to the right candidate.
