Under the leadership of our occupational therapy directors we support over 150 Occupational Therapists.

Working together as a large team we provide support to each other across the group, with the opportunity to be part of specialist interest groups & become involved in service development.

Every service line has a clinical lead occupational therapist to lead and develop evidence based practice and agreed occupational therapy pathway.

We ensure our occupational therapists have a voice through participating in service model development, utilising the expertise and support of our clinical lead occupational therapists

Main duties of the job

Broughton House is a 29 bed specialist residential services for adults with Autism, learning disabilities and who may present with behaviours that challenge.

As an Occupational Therapist, you will provide direct clinical care which will encompass OT assessments, treatment and management of residents within the service.

In this role you will assess, implement and develop an OT treatment programme according to individuals diagnosis and identified needs.

This will be based upon findings from assessments and associated risks in order to develop treatment plans & care and support plans.

You will be working alongside the Clinical Lead OT for the service line and will have an opportunity to complete Sensory Integration Preceptorship training if required.

There is a dedicated clinical team who provide multi-disciplinary input including occupational therapy, psychology, speech and language therapy, psychiatry and nursing.

Post: Highly Specialist (Band 7) Occupational Therapist

Salary: £41,000

Base: Broughton House, High Street, Brant Broughton, Lincolnshire, LN50SL.

Responsible for: 25 -30 residents

Responsible to: Clinical Lead OT and Hospital Manager for line management.

Hours: 40 hours per week

  • The Successful Candidate should be/have:
    • A registered Occupational Therapist with the HCPC (Health Care Professions Council)
    • Experienced in the field of autism and learning disabilities services
    • Working as a Band 7 OT or working as an established Band 6 OT ready for the next challenge
    • Formal Sensory Integration training level 1 is desirable
    • An understanding of Occupational Therapy process/Sensory integration or sensory based interventions and can take a hands on approach
    • Excellent communication and time management skills
    • Passionate about student education
