We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join our People Partnering Service to support the delivery of an expert HR service and our Trust's People Strategy.

This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced HR generalist to develop their skills and experience in a more strategic role, whilst working as part of a supportive and professional team. We are looking for an experienced HR/People practitioner with a sound understanding of HR best practice and employment law along with the ability to build excellent working relationships with senior colleagues.

Main duties of the job

Working as part of the People Partnering team you will work closely with a Divisional People Lead to pro-actively support clinical divisions with their challenging workforce agendas. You will work with senior leadership teams and managers on areas such as workforce planning, employee engagement, service improvement & organisational change, maximising employee attendance and performance management.

Job description

Job responsibilities

The post holder is a key support to managers and senior leaders within the divisions, providing operational & strategic workforce advice, challenging, influencing improvements in the efficient and overall effectiveness of the division and corporate portfolio.

The post holder, in conjunction with the Divisional People Lead, is responsible for supporting and leading on the delivery of divisional objectives and providing business focused solutions to workforce issues, analysing and interpreting organisational information to enable early interventions to be maximised. The post holder will support leaders within their divisions to achieve workforce KPIs and to embed the NHS People Plan and People Promise. .

The post holder will take the lead on specific projects and will deputise for the Divisional People Lead in the post holders absence.

Person Specification

Knowledge Requirments

Essential

  • Excellent knowledge of current HR processes and practices
  • Current and forthcoming employment law relevant to the role.
  • Knowledge and ability of interpreting terms and conditions of employment
  • An understanding of NHS workforce strategy and NHS policy
  • Good understanding of business partnering


Desirable

  • Working knowledge of Maintain High Professional Standards (MHPS)


Qualifications

Essential

  • Member of the CIPD or nearing completion of membership assessment
  • Degree level education or equivalent experience
  • Postgraduate qualification in HR or ability to demonstrate the breadth of expertise in this area of specialism


Experience

Essential

  • Previous proven experience in either a senior HR role Working with multiprofessional teams and disciplines
  • Ability to build effective relationships with operational and clinical managers
  • Ability to influence, guide, challenge, persuade at all levels of an organisation.
  • Experience of working with business performance metrics/data to guide business decisions
  • Experience of supporting change management within a large complex environment

  • NHS Experience
