Join our team as a Radiology Day Case Unit Manager!

We are seeking a passionate and experienced professional to lead our newly created Radiology Day Case Unit to facilitate and support GM Cancer's Targeted Lung Health Check follow-on diagnostics programme.

As the Radiology Day Case Unit Manager you will lead a dedicated team to ensure the seamless operation of our day case unit. Your leadership will be instrumental in delivering high quality care to our patients, optimising workflow efficiency and facilitating a positive patient experience through their journey.

Main duties of the job

The main duties of this role are as follows, but not limited to:
  • Oversee daily operations in the Radiology Day Case Unit
  • Ensuring excellent patient care from admission to discharge, following all trust and local policies and procedures
  • Act as a role model, providing clinical leadership to all staff, maintain morale and promote effective team working
  • Provide specialist nurse advice where required.
  • Facilitate optimum standards of care, initiating, implementing and evaluating programmes of ongoing improvements.

Job responsibilities

This vacancy is open to those who have a current NMC PIN to practice as a Registered Nurse or Midwife in the UK, or those who are currently enrolled on a course which means they expect to receive their full NMC Pin within the next 2-3 months. Please note an NMC PRN Pin is not a full NMC Pin and would not fulfil the essential criteria for this role.

The NCA can no longer accept applications from International Nurses and Midwives who are yet to complete all competencies needed to receivea full NMC PIN to practice in the UK as we have paused our OSCE programme indefinitely. Qualifications and Registration

Essential

  • BSc or Diploma in Adult Nursing
  • NMC Registration
  • Leadership Qualification


Knowledge and training

Essential

  • Experience of nursing at a senior level
  • Knowledge of governance, policy and audit processes
  • Knowledge and experience of service development


Desirable

  • Evidence of working in a radiological setting
  • Knowledge of radiological procedures


Skill and abilities

Essential

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage a demanding workload
  • Basic IT skills
  • Conflict resolution skills
