If so, then we have the perfect opportunity for you as the CDDFT Charity Support Officer. In this position, you will take a proactive and lead role in developing and promoting a diverse range of fundraising activities and projects to support the Charitys fundraising strategy and income generation.

Main duties of the job

Represent the Charity at events, meetings and be a point of contact for key stakeholders and CDDFT workforce

Take a proactive supportive role in developing, setting and achieving fundraising targets

Lead on developing and planning fundraising events including project planning, financial expectations

Represent the Charity at external events and meetings within the local communities and businesses

Work with the Trusts communications team to support the Charitys online and digital presence including but not restricted to the website, Facebook and Twitter

Support the Charity Manager in researching, identifying and managing small-mid donations from trusts, foundations, corporate and private donors.

Proactively work to attract, build and develop relationships with new and existing community and corporate donors to secure long term and increased funding across a wide range of target markets.

Help manage a mixed portfolio of funders to best practice standards, ensuring reporting deadlines are met, terms and conditions for grants are satisfied, grant income is collected efficiently when due and donor retention remains an on-going priority.

We provide hospital services from two acute sites - Darlington Memorial Hospital and University Hospital of North Durham. We have a centre for planned care in Bishop Auckland and provide care from community hospitals in Chester-le-Street, Shotley Bridge, Barnard Castle, Sedgefield and Weardale as well as over 80 other community based settings and providing care in patients' homes.

Job responsibilities

As CDDFT Charity Support Officer, you will develop and implement opportunities and plans to generate funds for the Charity. This will involve organising and coordinating various fundraising events. You will also be responsible for building relationships with potential donors, both individuals and corporate businesses, to secure donations and sponsorship.

The team works closely with CDDFT to identify areas where financial support is needed the most. This may involve funding medical equipment, supporting research projects, or enhancing the environment for patients and their families.

As CDDFT Charity Support Officer, you will play a vital role in raising awareness about the Charity and its work. This will involve creating and implementing marketing campaigns, working with the Trust's communications team to use social media platforms, and working with the media to promote its initiatives. You will also have the opportunity to engage with the local community, attending events and giving presentations to educate the public and other key stakeholders about the Charity's impact on healthcare services.

You should have excellent interpersonal skills, as you will be working with a wide range of stakeholders, including charity trustees, healthcare professionals, and volunteers. Strong organisational abilities are also crucial, as you will be responsible for supporting multiple projects at the same time and ensuring their success.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Good Standard of Education minimum of 4 GCSEs (or equivalent) including English Language.
  • Educated to at least NVQ level 3 in Business Administration or equivalent knowledge/experience (or working towards).
  • Plus relevant practical experience to diploma level.


Desirable

  • Membership of professional body or organisation.


Special Skills and Knowledge

Essential

  • Proficient IT skills and experience of using a wide range of software packages e.g. PowerPoint, Excel, and Microsoft Word.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of secretarial and administrative procedures and the ability to undertake associated tasks ensuring adherence to defined procedures and guidelines.
  • Demonstrate good organisational and diary management skills to include co-ordination of meetings.
  • Committed to quality customer care/delivering excellent customer service.
  • Effective interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and be able to communicate effectively and accurately to a wide range of people and demonstrate both excellent verbal and written comprehension skill.

  • Experience of supporting a digital presence including website, social media and intranet.
  • Knowledge of Data Protection and Caldicott Principles and understanding of confidentiality and the associated legal and policy requirements.
