We have an exciting opportunity for a None Medical Endoscopist within the Northern Care Alliance working across all Endoscopy Units.
The successful candidate will be required to work as an independent expert practitioner who is competent in both upper and lower endoscopy procedures.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will work alongside the None Medical Endoscopists working within the Norther Care Alliance. The successful candidate will be required to work across the Endoscopy Units within the NCA providing Endoscopy lists to patients.
The post holder will work independently as an expert practitioner, exercising advanced clinical expertise, levels of judgement, discretion and decision making in the clinical area.
The post holder will provide expert clinical skills and advice demonstrating a sound understanding of the issues related to the identification, assessment, diagnosis, treatment and management of the client group.
The post holder will monitor and lead improvements to standards of care through supervision of practice, teaching and supporting professional colleagues and the provision of skilled professional leadership. As a member of the multi-disciplinary team (MDT) provide specialist advice on the management of patients as delegated by the consultant team.
The post holder will lead the implementation of relevant research into practice contributing to the further development of the evidence base through research and audit.
The post holder will contribute to clinical governance within the service by leading audit and research as part of the MDT within the area of expertise. The post holder will be an integral part of the training and education of other endoscopists.

This vacancy is open to those who have a current NMC PIN to practice as a Registered Nurse or Midwife in the UK, or those who are currently enrolled on a course which means they expect to receive their full NMC Pin within the next 2-3 months. Please note an NMC PRN Pin is not a full NMC Pin and would not fulfil the essential criteria for this role.
The NCA can no longer accept applications from International Nurses and Midwives who are yet to complete all competencies needed to receivea full NMC PIN to practice in the UK as we have paused our OSCE programme indefinitely.
