Midwifery Practice Education Facilitator
This is an exciting opportunity for a suitable candidate to join the Practice Education Facilitator Team. The candidate will need to hold a current registration as a Midwife with the NMC. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing support to Practice Supervisors, Practice Assessors and Academic Assessors in complex decisions relating to competence/proficiency, professional attitude and behaviour and fitness to practice of Pre-Registration Midwifery Students.
The post holder wold need to adhere to the Code of Professional Conduct (2018) and other guidance of the Nursing Midwifery Council (NMC).
To work flexibly in accordance with the SBUHB Policy.
To comply with all SBUHB policies and procedures.
The successful candidate will assist in development policies specifically in relation to Midwifery Students. This will enable the student to achieve the requirements of the Midwifery Practice Assessment Document whilst in clinical practice.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be instrumental in the delivery and development of the Midwife education programme. They will facilitate a high quality learning/educational experience for students of midwifery whilst placed within Swansea Bay University Health Board.
As a lead specialist they will work closely with all services across the Health Board HEI colleagues, to drive the development and maintenance of positive learning environments that support midwifery learners of HEIs and their partners.
The PEF role requires individuals to role model a positive lifelong learning approach and can identify personal and professional opportunities to develop and sustain the role for the benefit of learners and ultimately our patient and client communities. The post holder must be familiar with local and national agendas of education, health and public health reform and be responsive to successfully implement changes.
