To join the Home Haemodialysis Training Team based in the Dialysis Unit at City Hospital Nottingham, responsible for training patients how to carry out haemodialysis safely so that they may be able to carry out their own treatments safely in their homes.
You will work both in the Dialysis Unit at City Hospital and the associated Satellite Dialysis Units and the patients home.
A UK driving licence and access to a reliable vehicle is essential

To develop and maintain a quality Home Haemodialysis training programme.
To promote Home Haemodialysis to patients receiving haemodialysis in the hospital setting
To visit patients, with the Home Therapies Nurse, at home considering Home Haemodialysis as their treatment of choice and assess their suitability.
To take responsibility for the training of patients requiring home haemodialysis within the hospital and home setting.
Liaise with the Renal Technical Services to facilitate work required in the patients home
To provide specialist training to the Home Therapies Team as required.
To work with the Renal Home Therapies Team to support patients having haemodialysis in the home setting
To provide specialist training, to both patients and their carers, as required.
To ensure the service is fully operational at all times

- Experience of working as a Registered Nurse in renal haemodialysis
- Competent in AVF and graft access
- Experience in caring for patients receiving haemodialysis treatment
- Competent on carrying out all aspects of haemodialysis
- competent in administering intravenous drugs

- Experience of using the Fresenius 5008S dialysis machine
- Experience of using the NxStage dialysis machine
- Experience in using the Quanta dialysis machine

- Current 1st Level NMC Registration
