An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 Sister/Charge Nurse to join our Bucks neuro rehab unit on a permanent basis. We are looking for a proactive, highly motivated, and passionate individual either currently at band 6 level or already a band 7, with an interest in neuro rehabilitation and wanting to gain further experience in Leadership. You will need to be able to work short shifts Monday- Friday with the possibility of having to work Long Days at short notice if required.
BNRU provides a specialist inpatient service for people with neurological conditions. This includes people who have experienced a stroke or brain injury or those suffering from conditions such as multiple sclerosis.
Our highly skilled team work with patients and people important to them, with the aim of enabling them to live as full and independent a life as possible. Our specialist neuro-rehabilitation team includes doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech and language therapists, clinical psychologists, dieticians, and social workers.

Main duties of the job
- Act as a credible, visible role model for nursing that will involve spending a minimum of 60% of the working time directly allocated in the clinical area.
- To actively participate with MDT meetings raising and discussing concerns and actively seeking acceptable and best outcomes solutions for the patients.
- Ensuring that patients and relatives views are always heard and taken into account.
- To support the ward team in resolving clinical and operational issues whilst ensuring that best practice is delivered.
- Establish a cleanliness culture across the ward to ensure that the patient environment is well-maintained, clean and safe. Work in conjunction with the Infection Prevention Control Team and the domestic support team to ensure adherence to cleaning contracts are maintained and monitored.
- To attend relevant meetings as a ward clinical authority diplomatically voicing concerns, negotiating on issues and where necessary utilising the art of persuasion.
- The ward manager will need to ensure that the staff portray a professional image at all times by adhering to the uniform policy and that individuals are addressed according to the situation reflecting professionalism at all times.

- Registered Nurse (Level 1)/ Qualified Physiotherapist / Occupational Therapist
