An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced, enthusiastic and highly motivated Physiotherapist to join The Paediatric Physiotherapy Service and work on the Bank supporting the delivery of Acute Care.
The service is delivered across the Health Board and the base dependent on the successful applicant, but they will deliver services across the health board
English and/or Welsh speakers are both equally welcome to apply.
Main duties of the job
Work as an autonomous practitioner managing patients with highly specialised complex needs in a variety of care settings.
Work collaboratively with other professions e.g. GPs, consultants, nurses and other AHPs to provide expert patient centred care.
Provide training, education, and supervision for staff.
Contribute to the development of professional practice and the transformation and evaluation of service delivery.
Support aspects of service evaluation with an emphasis on value based care and complex audit within their area.

Qualifications and/or Knowledge
Essential
- Degree/Diploma in Physiotherapy. HCPC Registration. MSc or equivalent level of specialist knowledge and experience. Evidence of relevant, specialised post graduate courses/CPD. Knowledge of appropriate clinical guidelines - Local and National.
Desirable
- Teaching qualification. Independent prescribing.
Experience
Essential
- Extensive experience working within the field of acute paediatric physiotherapy. Experience of audit/ research (clinical and organisational). Experience of formal and informal teaching. Experience of working within healthcare systems. Extensive experience of highly technical physical manipulation skills.
Desirable
- Experience of working alongside Paediatric Consultants or similar. Experience of teaching at post graduate level.
Aptitude and Abilities Skills
Essential
- Excellent communication skills (verbal, nonverbal and written). Ability to use highly specialised clinical reasoning skills to determine differential diagnosis, independent of other Practitioners, in an expert area of practice. Advanced assessment skills. The physical ability to perform and cope with all aspects of manual handling, equipment and advanced manual treatment techniques. Ability to work efficiently and effectively within a team environment. Coaching/mentoring/ presentation/instructing/ class taking skills. Good IT skills.
