An exciting vacancy has arisen for a physiotherapist to join the Community Respiratory Team on a development pathway from band 5 - band 6.
We provide specialist care and advice to patients with chronic respiratory disease in Cambridgeshire and would welcome newly qualified physiotherapists to apply for the chance to work within our specialist service.
The successful candidate will provide expert supportive care for respiratory patients in their own home, often to ensure they remain out of hospital.As well as work within our Pulmonary rehabilitation service, the largest in the county and nearing completion of the accreditation process.
Other roles, dependent upon experience of the successful candidate, will include routine chest physiotherapy, oxygen assessments, facilitating early discharge from hospital and promotion of self management. The post holder will work in collaboration with other services across the Trust and other stakeholders in order to make a positive impact on the health and well being of patients with chronic respiratory disease. They will also act as a resource for patients and other health professionals
It is anticipated that the successful candidate will have an interest in respiratory and the community.Training and support will be available for candidates with the potential to develop.
The position is based in Cambridge and the ability to work flexibly across the county wide respiratory team is essential.
Main duties of the job
Please note for this role you will be required to travel independently around the county meeting strict time deadlines. You will need to hold a full UK driving licence* and have use of a vehicle. You cannot use public transport for this role as this is not a reliable form of transport and will not allow you to meet service needs. Please confirm in your application that you meet the specified criteria.
This role has been created to support the transition of an band 5 Physiotherapist into the role of a band 6, within the respiratory specialism. An action plan will be formulated to aid in this development and will be individualised based on the current experiences and qualifications of the candidate. Successful development into the band 6 role will include (but not be limited to): Autonomous working Completion of an educational respiratory module Clinical capabilities to perform independent and urgent assessments on patients being managed in their own home.
