Cancer Nursing is an exciting and expanding specialty within Hywel Dda University Health Board and an opportunity has arisen for a Band 5 Staff Nurse to work in the Chemotherapy Day Unit, Bronglais General Hospital, Aberystwyth.
We are looking forenthusiastic nurseswho have an interest in learning about caring for people who need Systemic Anti Cancer Treatment (SACT). This is a busy, challenging, but rewarding environment in which we care for both Oncology and Haematology patients.
The team currently work across a Temporary unit and the Medical Day Unit during a comprehensive refurbishment project which is due to complete in March 2025. The New unit will have modern facilities to enable us to deliver care in a truly therapeutic environment.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidates will need to demonstrate a flexible approach to working by providing safe, individualised and effective standards of care. Previous experience in the administration of chemotherapy is not essential as training will be given.
Having experience in caring for patients with cancer and knowledge of chemotherapy treatments and associated problems would be an advantage.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
