CLCH Hertfordshire Adult Community Services - CLCH NHS Trust provides a range of Community Services, and the Hertfordshire Division is recruiting!

I'm Maria, and I am the service lead, as well as Consultant Respiratory Physio in the West Herts Community Respiratory Service.

We are a friendly service, and looking to expand and welcome applications from people who want to see what working in respiratory care in the community is like, or those with experience who want to further their career. We will have the structure and support you need.

We are a large community integrated respiratory specialist service, working 7 days a week, that will give you a range and depth not commonly found in the community. Each area has its own senior expert lead.

Main duties of the job

We are proud of our team and have a variety of professions working in of our multi-disciplinary approach to our patients, staff, and we like to blur the boundaries, so our patients benefit from the rich mix of skills we have in the team.

We work very closely with our integrated partners, West Herts Hospitals Trust, where we share clinical medical leadership, and have joint pathways and governance. Together, we will keep striving for make our patient experience better and try new things and ways of working. It's an exciting time to join us.

Respiratory Home Visits

Respiratory Clinics

TB Nursing - screening, clinics, home visits,

Obstructive sleep apnoea - diagnostics, clinics, and CPAP care

Non-Invasive ventilation for COPD - clinics and BIPAP care

Home Oxygen Assessment & Review

Pulmonary Rehabilitation

Person Specification

Education/Qualification

Essential

  • Registered Nurse with current UK NMC registration / Current AHP or Paramedic with UK HCPC registration
  • Post registration respiratory qualification or equivalent experience
  • Teaching/Mentorship qualification or equivalent experience
  • Possession of a degree or equivalent


Experience

Essential

  • Experience of working with respiratory patients
  • Experience of working within a community setting
  • Demonstrates ability to develop new initiatives
  • Demonstrates ability to managing change
  • Minimum of 3 years post registration experience


Skills and Knowledge

Essential

  • Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing
  • Ability to motivate self and others
  • Ability to make decisions and prioritise actions
  • Ability to be proactive and resourceful
  • A working knowledge of clinical governance and evidence based practice
  • Ability to develop and maintain team working
  • Undertake NMP training
  • Ability to demonstrate specialist clinical expertise, including physical assessment, spirometry, developing self-management action plans
  • Ability to perform arterial / arterialised blood gas sampling
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • Sound working knowledge of guidelines in the field of respiratory care
  • Excellent documentation skills
  • Knowledge awareness of recent NHS policies/DoH agenda
  • Ability to demonstrate an understanding of the holistic needs of the client group
  • Computer skills i.e. Word, data- bases email, internet
  • An eagerness to contribute to quality assurance and audit
